In the middle of 2007, it was revealed that the contractor Boaz Yona defrauded thousands of customers, stole millions of shekels from families who wanted to buy an apartment and fled Israel. Tanat Nir, in his role as head of the intelligence division of the National Fraud Investigation Unit, led the continent-spanning operation to locate and arrest Boaz Yona.
